August 30, Connect your external drive to your Mac. In other words, all of my drives are being recognised as expected. The issue is Logic Pro is recognising an external hard drive that is not a Time Machine backup drive as being one, and not allowing me to choose it as the Sound Library destination drive as a result. As it turns out, the external hard drive I wanted to use was a Time Machine backup drive of a computer I no longer use.
Fortunately I had access to the old computer. I can’t imagine what I would have been able to do if I didn’t have access to it. Back up your system. Now copy the Logic sound Library folders to your external drive. Next you want to create symlinks for each folder via terminal. If your not familiar with symbolic links check out the following.
